The History of The Olde Mecklenburg Brewery

OMB History

No great City should be without premium quality, fresh beer from its own local brewery.   So in 2007 OMB's founder decided Charlotte shouldn't be deprived any longer.  Shortly thereafter, The Olde Mecklenburg Brewery (OMB) was born. OMB’s mission is to produce the highest quality beer available locally, and deliver it fresh to the Charlotte/Mecklenburg County region and other Carolina locales.

We are focused on producing full-flavored, refreshing German style ales and lagers. Germany is famous for the quality of its beer, and OMB is now bringing that experience to the Carolinas.

In early 2009, OMB began crafting its first batch of authentic German style beer (OMB Copper Altbier) from the finest ingredients available worldwide.  Sales began in March 2009, and we've been growing steadily ever since.  Seems people really do appreciate fresh, premium beer.

OMB's 15,000 square foot brewery and Tap Room on Southside Drive in south Charlotte is open to the public for beer tasting, growler bottle purchases,  brewery tours and events.  And our Biergarten is a great place to hang out when the weather is nice.

OMB’s goal is to provide the local community with premium, ultra-fresh, local draft beer.  Our beer is sold at high quality bars and restaurants throughout the region.  And to ensure that it is the freshest available, OMB self-distributes the beer weekly in our own refrigerated delivery truck.  It doesn’t get any fresher!

Prost!
