At OMB, our unwavering commitment to fresh, pure, premium-quality beer isn’t just a slogan. It’s an integral part of who we are.

We strictly follow the world’s oldest beer purity law, the renowned German “Reinheitsgebot,” which states that beer should only contain four ingredients water, malt, hops, and yeast. Our brewing practice never compromises on quality, forgoing cheap ingredients, artificial flavors, and added colors. If you want to brew world-class beer, you’ve got to use the best ingredients and sweat the details. We never let cost or speed get in the way of excellence.

Our mission is to bring the Carolinas the freshest beer possible. We may be perfectionists, but when you taste our beer, we think you’ll agree that it’s totally worth it. Prost!

What are the Brauhaus hours?

Monday –Thursday 11:00 am – 10:00 pm

Friday – Saturday 11:00 am – 11:00 pm

Sunday 10:00 am – 10:00 pm

Where is the brewery located?

4150 Yancey Rd., Charlotte, NC 28217

The brewery is located on Yancey Road, which is off of Old Pineville Road between Woodlawn and South Blvd.

Is the brewery located near a light rail stop?

Yes. We are located 800 yards from the Scaleybark light rail stop, which is about a five-minute walk from the brewery. Walk south from Scaleybark stop and take a right on Old Pineville Road. Continue to Yancey Road and take a right.  We’re just down on the right side at 4150 Yancey Road.

Is the brewery family friendly?

Yes! The brewery is very family-friendly! We even have a “family zone” located in the back of the biergarten with an area for kids to play.

Do you serve food? Are there gluten-free or vegetarian options?

Yes, we do offer limited gluten-free and vegetarian options. We do not serve gluten-free beer.

Do you take reservations?

Due to volume, we only accept reservations during the following times:

Monday – Thursday: 11 AM – 7:30 PM

Friday: 11 AM – 4 PM

Saturday – Sunday:  NO RESERVATIONS

Are there other beverages at the brewery besides beer?

Yes, we serve red and white wine, local ciders, and hard seltzer. Non-alcoholic options include Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite, water, tea, and coffee.

Can we bring decorations or outside food to OMB?

We do not allow decorations inside our Brauhaus out of respect for our other guests. We do allow decorations inside our Private Event rooms and limited decorations (like balloons) outside in our Biergarten. Please visit the events page for more information about private events. We allow outside cakes/small desserts only. However, we charge a cake-cutting fee of $25 inside the brauhaus.

Can I bring my friendly dog?

Definitely, but dogs are only permitted in the Biergarten area outdoors and must be leashed. Since we strive to provide an environment that is fun and relaxing for everyone, we can’t allow unleashed dogs on our property or dogs that are barking, aggressive, or in any way annoying or frightening to our other customers. If we need to ask you to take your dog home, please don’t be offended and understand that we are a business and need to set consistent rules that apply to everyone.

Is there a private event space at the brewery?

Yes! Our two Festhalle (party halls) are perfect for all types of occasions. Please email events@oldemeckbrew.com or visit the Private Events page for more information.

Does the brewery host live music?

OMB hosts live music every Friday & Saturday evening and sometimes on Sundays. These weekly performances are by talented local musicians who live in the Charlotte area. 

BUYING BEER

Do you sell growlers?

We do. We have 37 oz growlers. Initially, you buy the growler bottle and the beer. When you return with your empty growler, we swap it for a full one, and you only pay for the beer (similar to how propane tank programs work). We will not refill growlers at the bar. We thoroughly clean all returned growlers in the brewery using our $70,000 professional growler cleaning machine (the only one in the country!). This way, a dirty growler won’t taint the taste of our beer or your beer-drinking experience. We then refill the cleaned growlers professionally on our bottling line, with fresh beer, of course.

Do you sell kegs?

We do sell kegs out of the Brauhaus. The kegs come in two sizes. **All deposits are refunded when the equipment is returned!

  • 20L Keg – holds approximately 42 pints
    • $100 keg deposit
    • $60 tap deposit (if you need a tap)

  • 50L Keg – holds approximately 105 pints
    • $100 keg deposit

Where can I find OMB outside the brewery? Do you ship beer?

Fresh OMB beer is sold in hundreds of retail and bar/restaurant locations throughout North and South Carolina. Ask your favorite draft or retail location for OMB beer. We do not currently ship beer.

Does the brewery give to charities?

OMB receives numerous requests for donations every month. While we like to support as many causes as possible, due to limited resources, we cannot support every request. Please complete this form to submit a donation request, and we will reach out if we accept your request.
